What happens to your tax crredit claim

when you lose your job. Is it suspended? Are you able to carry on with the claim for CTC? Anybody been in this situation?

    Child Tax Credits are based on your children's needs and you don't need to be working to claim them. Working Tax Credits are directly linked to your pay so you need to contact them as soon as you stop working. I don't know though if the claim continues or not.

    if you are a lone parent then yes the WTC will stop but the CTC will carry on, if you have a partner who works 16hrs plus a week then you'd still be enetitiled to WTC i think.
