Need white socks for teen ds - not thick sports socks
easy
DS has always been funny about socks, as a youngster I had to find seamless socks for him. This is apparently quite common amongst boys on the autistic spectrum, DS has some slight aspergers traits.
Now 13. (Size 6 - 7 feet) he needs white socks to wear with trainers and shorts. He won't wear trainer liners, hates the feel of them around the bottom of his ankles/heels. Now doesn't like sports socks because they are thicker than ordinary socks.
And before anyone suggests it, he couldn't even THINK of wearing trainers without socks at all!!!
Does anyone do men's white socks that are the same weight/thickness as regular school/suit socks? I'm getting to my wits end.
Any suggestions eagerly accepted, thanks

These look thinish, like a normal thin sock.
I'd take him to the shop and let him have a feel so he can decide if they are what he wants.

These look o.k as well and cheap.0 -
Can't he wear ordinary white suit socks?
I had a look on google, and they do seem to sell thin socks for running, although a lot of them are trainer liners. You could have a look though, and see if he likes any of them.
These are the sort of thing I've seen

Socks are unisex in our house
. I think you might find it easier to find what you are looking for in the ladies section and while he is still a size 6/7 that should be ok. Might get trickier if he goes up to a 12/13 though! 0 -
I hate fat trainer socks too. I look for thin ones, usually called 'crew socks'.
You can get them in various places. I should try women's sections, but don't tell your son.

Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)0 -
I'd go for ladies white plain socks too. Take the label off and your son will never know. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Hi
I've bought white socks just like normal coloured cotton socks in a pack from Asda. Under £5 (can't remember how much) for about 4-6 pairs. Only thing is they have a seam at the toe. Not sure how much that will impact your son.
Next also do white cotton socks, same style altho double the price of Asda.
Best of luckI got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.0
