Card for Under 16

Hi,

My son is 14 and will be going to the US to stay with my sister. I want my son to have access to cash without involving his auntie. Lebara only allows 18+ on secondary card (different info from moneysavingexpert).

Any idea how I can get him access to money without carrying cash or traveller's cheque?

Thank you.

I think the ICE card allows it see https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4658627

If he has a bank account with a debit card that might work (check with them), but might be more expensive that the ICE card if it does.

You can take out a Caxton FX dollar prepaid card in your name. You can then add him as a second card (The min age is 13).

You could also take out the Capital One Aspire world or Capital One classic extra as they are both fee free abroad and capital one doesn't have any min age for additional card holders.
