Cheap Energy Club

Options
I was informed on the 26th June about the energy club organising a transfer to Npower Feb 2015 deal.....up to now I have had no contact from Npower or EDF about switching.....I've switched before and they are usually in contact within a few days.
Can someone enlighten me please.....preferably some one from MSE?
Anyone else waiting?
Thanks

How long does it take to switch energy supplier?
Switching can take up eight weeks to take place. But don't worry, you won't lose your supply during this time. It should be a seamless handover from one provider to the other. All that's really changing is the billing, not the actual gas and electricity that you're being supplied.

  • ?? Surely the OP wasn't querying why they hadn't been switched yet but rather why they hadn't even been contacted yet.

OP, there is normally a 14 day cooling off period with energy switches so some suppliers don't get in touch until that 14 day period is over. If you've heard nowt by the middle of next week I would suggest contacting your current supplier to see what the score is.
  • Thanks Millicent....the first response is right about 6-8 weeks but you are usually aware that things are moving within a relatively short time as you said.
Thing is the cheap energy club should have approach the suppliers by now.....for example if you use Uswitch they organise it for you.....I've used this because of the £30 cashback
If I enquire they will deal with it as a individual and therefore no cashback......in addition Npower may remove the deal!
My current supplier EDF aren't aware, they usually beg you to stay!
I HOPE SOMEONE FROM MSE READS THIS AND CAN ANSWER....only thing I can think off is they are leaving me on my cheaper current deal(Expires end of Sept) but what if Npower pulls the offer??
    Thanks
