  • Just gotta work out how to make vegetable juices palatable enough and think that probably boils down to = throw in an apple and/or some tasty type superfood and I should be able to manage to drink my veg I think:cool:
I found that apple, pear and few grapes do the trick. Oh, and some fresh ginger - I like them with some 'bite'.
So far worst combo I made was with home grown french radishes - boy were they hot, had to throw half pineapple, extra pear, kiwi and handful of grapes and it was still hard job to get that down. Any other combo so far been pleasure, rather than chore, including kale, spinach, raw beetroot, sweet potatoes and every other vegetable under the sun.
Most pleasant side effect of raw vegetable juices - makes me very very sleepy :)
    Off to make some now...

Managed to get some manuka honey so set to give it a trial.

Today went to physio - £35 to be tortured:rotfl:

Still at least I can stand straight again and walk more like homo sapiens rather than an orangutang. ;)

OH has been suffering from sciatica for years, he's also recently started taking co-amoxycillin (?) for cellulitis in his leg. The cellulitis hasn't improved, but he says his back is feeling better....
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
  • Have you been to the docs about your back problem?

I'm sceptical - it might be a placebo effect. You're told it's going to help, so it does.

    Just my tuppence worth :)

And if it works, so what?

You're not treating the underlying problem.

But it's the same as homeopathy and all the rest of it - be my guest, just don't try and convert me :)

Wouldn't ever try to do that.

I think we underestimate the power of the mind over the body - perhaps the pain goes away because the body heals itself?

If there was an underlying problem that persisted, the pain either wouldn't go away or it would be very short term relief.

    Mind over matter :)

In the case of the OP, the pain recurs - hence my suggestion of another visit to the doc. Hopefully the physio will do something. The osteopathy probably won't.

I thought money was feeling better.

It does depend on what the back problem is but I didn't get any help from the GP and the physio (and I did follow their advice and do the exercises) - it's the osteopath I see who has got me walking normally and pain free.

Each to their own :) Physio helped me immensely, and I won't touch unproven alternative medicine with a bargepole.
