I've just been approved for an egg card with a limit of £500. I'm going to balance transfer part of our citi card onto it which is 27.9% as the egg card is 0% for 12 months... but has anyone had any experience of asking egg for a higher limit just after getting the card as ideally I'd like to transfer everything onto it or at least as much as possible...
Thanks in advance..
Thanks in advance..

Hello IA
Congratualtions on your new credit card, having read your Personal Thread, i know it is going to make all the difference for you!Egg_Website wrote:If I ask you to consider an increase to my credit limit, how do you assess my request?
We will carry out appropriate checks and use a variety of information when reviewing your credit limit. This can include factors like how you've managed your account to date, when your last credit increase was and information from a Credit Reference Agency.
Having not had an Egg card myself, i cannot make comment to personal experiences, however i see no problem you phoning up and asking for an increase.
Fingers Crossed you will be successful, if not in the increase, its still going to be a massive help....

Ring up, won't hurt to mention that you want to BT more, I've found that helps with CCs sometimes.0

I know Egg are now owned by Citi Card and am somewhat surprised you can bt to the Egg card.9.3 You can ask us at any time:
to pay off an amount you, or your Additional Cardholder, owes to another UK lender and transfer it to the Account, as long as the amount transferred would not make you go over the Credit Limit and is £100 or more and is not used to discharge your or your Additional Cardholder's indebtedness to any part of the Egg group of companies;Group means Citigroup Inc.and its group of companies including Egg Banking plc.
This definition of "Group" applies to all agreements made on or after 1 May 2007, as we are now a member of the Citigroup Inc group of companies.0 -
You can do it via your bank account - transfer money from egg to your current account, then pay it against your other card.0

HI IA - it's definitely worth asking. I have two low LOB credit cards and when I asked if I could increase my limit they both said this could only be done after six months, depending on how I was managing the account.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620
