I'm looking for the above, however the switches are needed to be one above other (vertical) as opposed to a pair side by side. It controls downstairs and upstairs landing.
As a temp measure i've fitted a 2 gang single faceplate and covered the lower space witha single blanking plate.

Just to be clear, you've got a conventional 2 gang pattress (mounting box) that's been fitted vertically not horizontal, and you want to find a way to mount two switches in it, one above the other?0

Conventional in the sense of build date c1950's. Its longitudinally mounted, switch became faulty, i made a temp fix be fitting a modern singe plate 2 gang 2 way switch - this left the lower compartment open and exposed, to which i fitted a blanking plate.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

Sorry - I'm either having a hot and dense moment or just too much cider, but still not following exactly what shape/size the mounting box is. Is it the same as for a double socket?0 -
Pic of the broken one would help.
Or maybe mount a new one sideways if you have the suitable mounting holes.0 -
I can post a pic but that may have to wait until tomorrow - it for an elderly relative.
Moving is not really an option as the box is mounted in a brick wall and has old metal conduit attached.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
