help iceland parking ticket

Hello everybody.
I had a parking ticket from smart parking also trading as town and city parking on iceland's car park in worthing i would have been on time but the line at the till was so long as it was really busy and by the time i got to the front they run out of till roll run out.
Anyway by the time i got to my car there was a ticket waiting for me. I ignored it but now i have a letter from them telling me that i must pay £90.00 withing 14 days or my details would be passed on to a recovery agent.I'm very worried as i'm a single mother on benefits and strugling as it is, can somebody help me with some advice please. Thank you.:)

Have you still got your shopping bill? Can you go to the manager who will know that they had big queues etc and see if they can get the ticket cancelled.

    Now, dates.

    Date of contravention.
Date of first letter from PPC
    Date of any other letters.
Does current letter say "Notice to Keeper" anywhere?

If it's convenient, it would be good to know what company name is displayed on the signs at the car park. TCP has been remiss in changing its signs since it changed its name to Not-Very-Smart Parking, and if the signs say "Town & City Parking Ltd." (even if the "Ltd." has been crossed out with a felt tip pen!) then the contract they allege you entered into is with a company that no longer exists!

The parking prankster has been winding up Asda over this:

Wow you write about it as if it's real parking ticket! 'Tis in fact a fake one. Next time park in the Waitrose car park at Worthing...! :)

If Iceland won't cancel it (try that first!!) email or post a simple challenge as described & linked here below; without saying who was driving but enclosing copies of any receipts from 'the driver' who was a 'genuine customer' who was held up because the line at the till was so long as it was really busy and by the time the driver got to the front Iceland's cashier ran out of till roll.

Read any other current threads about the second stage appeal - POPLA - on page 1 - 3 of the parking forum - not just Smart Parking cases; read any private parking company (PPC) cases and you will learn what to do to cancel this.

But your first port of call is to complain to the Store Manager at Iceland in person - of course! Clearly this isn't customer service, get ANGRY about this harassment by their agent!

    - Did you receive the fake PCN letter within 14 days of the incident?

    - Do the signs there say 'Smart Parking' or 'Town & City Parking Ltd'? With or without the 'Ltd'?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
