Estate agent still listing property for sale

Had an offer accepted on Monday and immediately put the wheels in motion on mortgage etc and kept the EA informed.
I noticed this afternoon that the house was still listed for sale on Rightmove so asked them to take it off. The EA replied saying they couldnt do that until they had sent out a memorandum of sale, and were unable to do that until I provided details of my solicitor.
I had already sent the solicitor details but it turned out that they wanted the name of the individual, rather than just the firms name (they didn't mention this before). I sent over the details and the EA stopped responding.
How do I get them to take the details down?

are you worrying to much .
Get a friend to phone the agent and ask for a viewing .
If the agent says its under offer or sold ,you have nothing to worry about ."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
The EA doesn't work for you. He works for the vendor. The vendor is within his rights to keep the property on the market until your position as a purchaser is confirmed.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

But, you can insist that your offer, is subject to them removing all marketing immedaitely.
Otherwise you withdraw. Its up to you, EA may work for the vendor, but they're getting paid by you0 -
OP, just give them a call and ask why the house is still being marketed?
Ask directly if there are any viewings today.
If they haven't received solicitors name, then just tell them over the phone.0 -
many EAs will continue to advertise until after survey, they wait to remove until they have seen that you have spent money on the purchase by getting the survey.
I actually think this is understandable, as a vendor would you want your property removed and then the buyer back out two weeks later?
Normally they will just take the contact detail of people expressing an interest and make arrangement to contact them if the sale collapses.0 -

As a buyer I wouldn't allow the property to continue to be marketed. Otherwise all the risk is on the buyer. 2 weeks off the market until buyer shows some commitment is fair in my book.0 -

Rubbish. That's like saying the company that pay my wages has an interest in which brand of soap powder I buy.
The relationship is contractual. The contract is between the EA and vendor. How the EA gets paid is completely academic.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Unless the buyer is a cash purchaser, the EA should continue to market the property, but clearly mark/state its "under offer", until exchange of contacts has taken place.
With regards to the EAs duty of care, it lies with the Vendor as its the Vendor whom have employed the EA to market the property.
Hope this helps
