Am i still paying ppi on a defaulted credit card?

Long story short, I took out a lloyds tsb credit card in 2002 and today i received my original credit agreement showing ppi on the account. Being a young lad and a huge credit spending card I soon racked up a credit card bill of £5000 which defaulted and i received a ccj on. Fast forward to today a whooping 11 years later am i still being charged ppi? My statements that have just arrived from the solicitors dealing with my credit card debt only go back to 2004 so I have no way of knowing what i am being charged etc. I have rang them and been told i have £1300 on the account but would the ppi of stopped when the solicitors took over the account?
Thanks
steve

When you defaulted the company should have cancelled the PPI element. You need to claim the PPI back, especially as they are still charging you for it. If the charge is on your statement send the proof in with you claim, the money will go towards your outstanding amount it might even clear it!!
Good luck
