Hi
I have a Halifax regular saver and i will be putting in the full £250pm. I would like to know what the best savings account is to have to use as a dripfeeder/saver. I was thining along the lines of ICICI's HiSAVE 6.05% but have been told in the past that online only accounts don;t like standing orders/dd going into a regular saver..current account only.
Cheers

I do not understand why you cannot use the HiSAVE A/C. BTW, the Hafilax (sic) do not offer the best RS rates. In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0

Can't you use the Halifax High Interest Current a/c to fund it? I'm in the process of switching my old current account to one. Mind you, the woman in the branch contradicted the telephone CS and seemed to think I couldn't convert an existing account. I'll find out in a week or so!Debbie0 -
Money from ICICI's HiSave account can only be withdrawn via a linked cheque book account.
The Halifax regular saver does not need to be fed via standing order - you can do a manual BACS payment from any account every month (as is the case with all regular savers requesting standing orders as a standing order is a repeated BACS payment).
You could use Principality's eSaver @ 5.85% from where you can set up BACS payments to any account.Dagobert0 -

Can you explain this? Ideally i'd like an account where i can set up the BACS/SO and then it'll be done automatically - i have a habit of forgetting payments.
I've looked at the YBS regular saver in the past, but i don't like the fact you cannot change the deposit amount each month - i'm not likely to ever need to, but at least with halifax if i have a hard month i can reduce the payment and not default.

You can save anything between 10 and 500 a month with the ybs, and it can be varied, according to the person I discussed it with, anyway.Debbie0
