debit card transaction

hi there

a debit card transaction was made by a company to me @1030 am on tues 9th july for £500 and was told by them and lloyds bank(where i hold my account where the maoney is going too) that it would take 3 working days, lloyds told me it would be available today 12th julu---having checked my account this morning its not there! having contacted both the company and lloyds I can get no sense
so my question is -is it that they have or have not included the tuesday as a working day meaning it will now go into my account tomorrow? I thought and was told that tuesday would be included in that working day---hope makes sense

You need to clarify how they are sending the money to you. If it's a refund for something you've purchased on your debit card then 3-4 working days is reasonable.

If it's a transfer direct to your account (i.e. you've given them your sort code and account number) then it will come by either BACS or Faster Payments.

If BACS - I'd expect it today, assuming the company sent it on the day they said they would. Your bank will be able to see the payment coming in 1 working day in advance (so if it's coming in Monday they may be able to see it now).

If Faster Payments - The money should arrive within 2 hours of them sending it.

If it's a Payday Loan, they'll probably send it by faster payments even though they state BACS as this is cheaper for them (they just like charging people extra to get it in same day).

They'll mean "by the end of banking on Tuesday, July 12th", not the beginning.

Always work on the basis that the day you are inquiring on isn't one of the working days quoted. At least that has always been the case for me.

You will have had Wednesday, Thursday and today. I'd wait until midnight and if there isn't anything there in the morning then give your bank a call and check.
