The "must take an hour" thing seems to be a bit of paranoia amongst MOT testers.
I had one get investigated, he did a lot of work for a car club I was a member of and the interview basically went. "Yes I do a lot of work with (car make) so I know where all the faults are, where it rusts, where all the test items are located, it only takes me 20-30 minutes to check when you're doing the same car 16 times a day, would you like to watch me inspect one and talk you through it", "no that's fine, thank you for your time". I bet customer services start bowing down to you. Won't sort the issue but it'll make you feel better.0
