Last few I've had were 40 minutes.0

The "must take an hour" thing seems to be a bit of paranoia amongst MOT testers.
I had one get investigated, he did a lot of work for a car club I was a member of and the interview basically went. "Yes I do a lot of work with (car make) so I know where all the faults are, where it rusts, where all the test items are located, it only takes me 20-30 minutes to check when you're doing the same car 16 times a day, would you like to watch me inspect one and talk you through it", "no that's fine, thank you for your time". OP, try sticking the facts on their public Facebook page so it's in the public domain.
I bet customer services start bowing down to you. Won't sort the issue but it'll make you feel better.0
