I have just purchased the Real XHose and will leave a review a few weeks after it has been delivered and used for a while. As I entend to get my son and nephew use it as well it should be an around review.

Oh I purchased from https://www.officialxhose.co.uk as the offer was better than Argos who were selling the same product excluding the tape attachment for almost the same price as getting it delivered.

Fine, but I want to know my hose will last for longer than a few weeks!

I can't really see what all the fuss is about with this thing. I've had a couple of hose reels for about 15 years now and the hoses on those are now just about knackered, but the reels are fine.

If you have not much space, a short hose is all that's needed. If you have loads of space, then 60metres of hose on a reel still takes up very little room.

I need a 100ft hose and this length is very heavy so I find it exhausting trying to rewind it. I have tried one of the coil ones which get tangled up unless being used in an absolutely straight line.

One of these expanding hoses would be absolutely terrific for my needs if they work as advertised.

Have you considered a one-off job of taking a 20mm mains pipe to the place(s) where you need water, rather than lugging an unwieldy length of hose about?

My longest hose is 180' but it is no fun to reel in, so I'll shortly be changing that with another buried pipe.

It isn't necessary to bury the pipe or use the ghastly blue stuff if you need a more temporary arrangement, as water pipe comes in discreet black too. Just shut it down and empty it in winter, though it'll probably survive, even if you don't. ;)

Thanks for the suggestion but it wouldn't work for my purposes.

Being the O/P, I had forgotten about this hose, and to make it more interesting, whilst I still have it, I choose not to. I can't really be asrted. My old kink-free faithfuls are used as and when. I hardly dare take it out of the shed to use because I know full well what I will hear, "that's another thing you've wasted your money on". nuff said.

I bought a cheap one for use in the greenhouses, (the rigid ones and curly ones just knock everything over and catch on everything) It was very good for one season, then the hose came off the pipe (refitted) and then the silicon pipe within the fabric covering split (totalled), I wasn't aware of any max pressure requirement, surely the fabric sleeve should take care of that?.
Should I buy another? probably but undecided, can anyone recommend a particular brand?
Garden watered by buried 25mm pipes and taps switched on/off by an ORBIT Sunmate (Brilliant)
