This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.
Morning all,
Feels a bit cooler here today, but looks like it will still be a nice day. Off to work for me, so hope the day goes fast.
Need to drop dd at work this morning, and then tonight she has the Dr, so will run her down there.
Its the Festival of speed in the next town this weekend, any main roads get grid locked so we will avoid them as much as possible. Its a great day out and attracts hundreds of people.
Dinner tonight will be tomato and mozzarella salad with some nice crusty bread, OH will have some ham with his, he feels starved if he doesn't have any meat
Need to do a wash tonight, and get ready for the vilage boot sale tomorrow, its mostly done, just needs a quick check.
Have good days all xx

Morning all:j:j
Warm and sunny here this morning,
They said that yesterday that it was going to be cooler, Well for parts of it they they got it right but as the afternoon went on, It got quite warm here.
Looks like today will be another warm day,
No plans for me today apart from doing some tidying and waiting in for a bookcase to turn up that we have ordered from Argos. The book case will go at the top of the stairs fro the Girls many and by that I mean more than a book shop! , Books.
We have not used Argos for years and then with In the same month we have used them twice!
Also This afternoon I will be picking the girls up from school, And you can bet that that Argos try to deliver the book case while I'm up at the school! always the way!
Not meal plans as of yet for today, Need to think of something to have for dinner tonight.
Well I hope that everyone has as great Friday!
Enjoy!:j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Morning redruby and everyone else who follows :j
Another beautiful day here again. I am going to just potter around the house this morning as I'm expecting a food delivery from Mr T's ...that always makes me laugh as I picture The Mr T complete with gold jewellery humping bags of shopping up my path to the house...but I digress lol.:rotfl:
The appointment went well yesterday with the psychiatrist even though I snivelled all over her. I don't have to see her again unless I need to and I am on the waiting list for a support worker to come and drag me out of the house for a coffee and chat, so that's great.:D
Hubby is on a half day today and wants a BBQ for tea so that's going to be nice. I normally invite the world and his wife but I'm limiting it to just us, my eldest and one of the girls' friends. It's been a long week so I would just like to relax and enjoy the food and company.
DD12 gets her ipod back again today so she's really happy. I feel a bit mean but hopefully it will be a lesson learned. I pay her and her older sister an allowance each month and for that they have to take turns in loading and unloading the dishwasher and keeping their rooms tidy. Not too difficult you would think but they have to be reminded all the time and I hate being a nag so I have decided to get strict with them.
Anyway, I've rambled on again lol. Once I start typing I don't know when to stop! I hope everyone gets the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine, don't forget your suncream and as always sending gentle hugs to all you would like one.
Cheers m'dears x0 -
Good morning chums ,the carpet man cometh this morning .What with Keith the builder, and Mick the Gardener and today Phil the carpet fitter
I will have had a stream of men passing through my front door this week, still it'll keep the neighbours happy
:):)
History club this afternoon and we are discussing artists of various sorts during the Victorian period so that will be nice.
Room all done and looking good, and once the carpets down this morning I can start putting things back.My kitchen is chocker block at the moment:)
Bit overcast at the moment but not cold ,its supposed to be a belter later on this morning.
My builder was so good yesterday I have a sofa that is shall we say getting on a bit (like me) but I am attached to it and see no reason to get rid of it but the castors were clapped out.Bless him my builder went over to Wilkinsons and bought a set of four new ones and fitted them on just so when my carpet goes down this morning my sofa would glide around better .Now to me thats above and beyond what you expect a workman to do .He was worth every bacon sarnie and cuppa that I made for him and I will use him again in the spring as I want my kitchen decorated then
Right time to whizz off and do the school run
Have a great day everyone

Good morning everyone
Another beautiful day here. The beds are stripped and the bathroom emptied. First load of washing is already on the line and second in the machine now.
Next job is to clean the bathroom .... or turn it into local swimming pool as DH always claims I do! Nothing will separate this woman from her bleach spray, though I do fill it myself now instead of buying the expensive D brand which was always my obsession.
Long weekend for me as I am off work today. DH has officially finished marking but has been begged to carry on and mop up work others did not complete. He is already at 120% of his allocation and everything above 100% is at enhanced rate. It looks like it will pay for our car insurance at the end of the month so we are both happy. Aim for next year is to pay house insurance in a lump sum too so am already saving for that and will save £30 in interest.
Ended up with cold meats and cheese for dinner last night so yesterdays mince is made into burgers for tonight with courgettes and salad and some home made tsatsiki.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super sunny dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning all,
Off to the gym with my friend again this morning. Last day for a swim as I had a five day free pass. No way can I afford to join at £48 per month. But I've enjoyed it:D
I'm another one doing bedding this morning, one load in and another waiting. I love the sunshine it makes me feel so much happier.
Guess what, I managed to fast yesterday, all day:rotfl: a massive achievement for me, hunger makes me panic but I did it. The next one is on Thursday. I'm going to eat normally in between and hopefully the weight will come off slowly and surely.
Quiet day otherwise. Need to pop to Aldi, which is what they should have done on the Great British Budget Menu last night. I found it very disappointing, they missed loads of tricks and opportunities to be really informative. The menus are good though on the BBC website.
Going to have a glass of wine in the garden and then tomorrow dh and I will pop into town on the train, probably in the afternoon. The Manchester Festival is on at the moment with lots of free events to look at so we shall have a wander and then have tea in a new place that's opened. Also have a voucher so shouldn't cost much at all.
Well better get my trainers on, have a good day J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all!
Another sunny day here, after a horrible sleepless night, was woken by my brother texting me about something daft at 6am and kept awake by the cat bouncing around like tigger!
No plans for today as yet, could do with ironing, but that can wait till early tomorrow I think!
Right, off to find something to do, bearing in mind my bedroom looks like an ongoing jumble sale it shouldn't be hard to occupy myself!
Have a good day allRIP Iain

Morning everyone
Sun struggling through here in cloudy Kent. We are off this pm in our new to us caravan for the weekend. Being very OS as have made tomato sauce for pasta, cake and bread to take with us. Only going about 20 miles away but a different area to explore on the bikes.
Went to Hampton court flower show yesterday, very crowded but had lovely time, show gardens lovely but really it's a glorified outdoor shopping centre!
Happy sunny weekend to all, remember the sun cream!Carolbee0 -

I was incredibly disappointed and very angry, even screaming at the TV at one stage, until DH told me to calm down

Morning everyone
Been missing in action, DH is poorly, awaiting a deep CT Scan, cancer is being talked about so quite a lot going on here, lots to deal with.
Sun is gradually making an appearance
Neighbours had an early morning wake up call,as did we, we had a power cut at 5am and it set the house alarm off - bells ringing loudly, I'll have to go and say sorry to the folks next door later :[
OS to day - I'm sewing in the ends on the granny squares I'm crocheting, I've done about 65 squares so far, need to do about 20 more and then I'll allow myself to make some more squares :]
Hope you all have a nice day

Afternoon All
Helen jelly - Big hugs to you.
Been busy this morning, went for a swim but those pesky pensioners must have swapped the water for treacle and I found it very hard! Just come in from cutting the grass before it gets too hot. The strimmer broke again, need to get another reel of stuff (sorry, can't remember what it's called). I seem to buy a new strimmer each year.
Washing on the line, house clean and tidy so will have a relax before work tonight at 6. Tea tonight salmon and veggies, will leave DDs to heat up when she gets in from work.
Take care in this heat. XX0
