Can I manipulate a Windows Media File?

A kind person has produced a promotional CD-R video (pictures only, no sound) for a charity I help out. It runs for 30 seconds with lots of pictures and writing - too fast to take in. When first saved, Windows explorer says it was a "MS DOS Batch File 1KB" but when I copied it, it came up as a "Windows Media Audio/Video File 18,998 KB"

Is there anyway I can slow it down to run over, maybe, two minutes? I can't gain access to the file at the moment because it plays everytime I click on it!

I don't really want to go back to the donor. Any ideas, please?

Slowing it down would make the video choppy and may bob back and forth.

I think it would be easy for the kind person to slow it down and provide you with a new one.

Dont think you can slow it down, but what you could do is add in transitions between different scenes, and make them last a bit longer, so changing scenes take longer. Try opening the file in Windows movie maker, and see if it lets you edit the movie. You should have it on yr pc as part of windows (start/programs/accessories/entertainment), otherwise you will need some video editing software.
