That is fantastic!
Thank you for posting it :rotfl:Can one have blackberry envy?! I can smell those GP.IMO commercially grown ones are tasteless. We grew a thornless blackberry for a few years and dug it up after 3 seasons as it was tasteless - much better getting ripped to shreds collecting them! Around here bilberry picking is very popular - I am sure I eat as much as we collect though!
I have blackberry envy.thanks for the photos Greying, all the fun of the picking without the scratches.

Good evening :hello:
Upsidedown Bear - you always have the perfect graphic/cartoon. I agree with Pippi, thank you for posting it, I know just how that bloke feels..........:rotfl:
And yes, Igamogam, the taste is 'of it's own'. I was thinking that today as I *ahem*, 'quality controlled' as I went along. Very distinctive - particularly if you hit ripe, sun-baked fruit.
Well, today has been wonderful. We've seen some lovely things, done some lovely things and had chats with some lovely people. All for the cost of a couple of gallons (at most) of fuel in the car. As the trip was multi-functional, I don't think I would begrudge that for a second.
Dinner last night was a right off. I tried to adapt a recipe and made the first mistake of experimentation, I changed too many variables at once. I shan't name the recipe/it's author, as it was my mistake - as far as I know, their recipe works. However, DP was feeling nauseous before dinner , so I possibly wasn't paying full attention to what I was doing anyway. DP doesn't feel sick usually, so it was time to pay attention...... However, even though the main part wasn't right it was edible, so DP asked for a small portion (something must of been amiss.....) and seemed brighter after eating.
And no, dear reader, I did not waste food. The remainder of dinner was 're-hashed' - also known as 'fried' - this morning for breakfast. Smothered in red-hot chilli sauce, it did not improve things, but everything was eaten, so my conscience is clear. I have also learnt my lesson with improvisation. The daft thing is, I was only 1 or 2 steps at most, from the recipe working as an improvisation.........
Today has been a NSD, and as mentioned before, has been wonderful. Lashings of fresh-air and absolute contentment in a bucolic, rural idyll.........mmmm Greying has imaginings of being the new Thomas Hardy Esq.................:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Dinner this evening was a triumph of freezer portions, and using up YS'd and Ald* produce.......
Vegetable lasagne, cabbage, carrots and boiled potatoes. Lasagne was frozen from one made in August, carrots Ald* S6, cabbage YS's Waitflower 2 weeks ago and potatoes YS'd MandS 1 week ago. A frugal feast methinks
Mind you, I have no idea what will go in snap bags tomorrow......
Oh, I forgot to mention, I also got gifted some garden produce on my travels today. People are so kind. Mind you, I always only accept things if I know I can use them. I can't abide those who 'grab' stuff just because it is 'free', without the wit nor wisdom to know how to utilise it, and just end up tossing it out. Waste.
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
Mother Nature - she provided us with such (free) entertainment today. Whether it was flora, fauna, landscape or the weather - it all contributed to a fabulous experience.
Generous people - we've benefitted from people's time, organisational skills and gardening skills today. Thank you.
A supportive DP - for accompanying me up a mountain, and for [STRIKE]not laughing[/STRIKE] supporting me when the scree decided to do otherwise.......................:rotfl::rotfl:
Thank you for popping by, reading and contributing to this thread. I greatly appreciate it.

'Enough' or 'Sufficient' Beanielou - I really like the phrase and the piece of music is absolutely haunting..........

Good Morning :hello:
Beanie - sorry for the short reply last night, I was dashing off to catch something on TV. But yes, the phrase means as you thought, plus 'enough' or 'sufficient' or is sometimes translated 'I am content' - all good things to remind myself of eh? It is the name of a Bach cantata too (found on utoob) and I love the (late) Lorraine Hunt-Lieberson's version - which an oboe (I think) leads, or there is another version with Nancy Argent, which has a flute lead. Both different, but both wonderful pieces of music.
Anyway, enough of the lecture, and on with the day!
7 Week Wonder - I forgot to say, we got rid of the washing machine over the weekend. No point in keeping it, it is not repairable nor useable. You may recall that I had got the inspiration from something you wrote to see if it could make us money though - in scrap value. DP has resisted all the way in this, insisting that the scrappie wouldn't touch it, it was hardly any metal weight etc etc. Well, long story short, it weighed the scales at the scrappies to the tune of £4.40 cash! Only 1.1% of the value of when I bough it 6 years ago BUT a whole lot better than the big fat £0 I would of got if it had gone straight to the tip! :T So thank you for making me think in a lateral manner about 'selling' stuff we own. Not quite a bayofE 'killing', but I've pounds in the key fun and the smug satisfaction that I was right :rotfl: Plus it was funny to listen to DP waxing evangelically about getting £ for scrap to our friends at the weekend :rotfl::rotfl:Convert I tell you, convert
Today will involve some spending. The cupboards are starting to be squeaky bare (in some areas), so some stocking up will commence.
I haven't thought about dinner yet. Better do that I suppose
Right, load up the snap boxes and sieze the day I guess!
Thank you for popping in, reading and commenting. I appreciate it.

Hi folks :hello:
Had a funny ole day, nothing went wrong, but not feeling terribly upbeat.
Will be back tomorrow and hopefully normal service will be resumed.......
Am trying to work out how THIS 'grown up' use of blackberries can become a reality at Greying Towers.....
Thank you for popping by, reading and contributing. It is appreciated.
