Simple?
I'll let you be the judge
Thanks Shovel Lad - I was only on to the Helpline for 10 minutes getting shoved from dept to dept. But to be fair, the 'terribly bored sounding' young lady was correct in the information that she eventually gave me and an online order was made. Whether it will go through or not is entirely another matter .........:rotfl: The old system took longer, but was far simpler - IMHO
Beanie - operation WM has stalled. DP raced around all day in order to leave work early.......only to find the WM repair shop SHUT
Now to other matters.
Dinner is currently only a pipe dream as DP is fiddling about with the *****y WM again.
Only milk was purchased today in the end, apparently Ald* bananas looked fit only for making banana bread with. I'm sure it is the heat and I'm sure it is not the store's fault, however, as they were still charging full price, DP - being well-trained - left them there :rotfl:
DP 'handed over' a penny roadkill that was found yesterday :j
BoB - I've had a look at the book that I thought contained that turnip (matchstick) salad I was wittering on about. It wasn't in thereI was going on the quality of the photo to match it to the book. I managed by a combination of being able to dive into a bookshop and the library quickly, to flick through quite a number of cookery books that I have recently borrowed (from the library) - and found it in none of them. This has got me irked now
I've two more book sources to check, otherwise I must of seen it online on a blog, but again, a quick check of the obvious suspects has not thrown up the recipe. Mind you, I today discovered just how many cookery books I've loaned lately and how many turnip recipes they had in them
:D:rotfl: Who knew????
Right, I think DP has now vacated the kitchen, so I think I can safely retire to make dinner.
7 Week Wonder - I hope all is well with you....
As I may not be back online tonight, I am, today, grateful for these 3 things;
Buzzards playing 'tag' - I'm sure it was probably some elaborate hunting training scheme, but 2 buzzards appeared to be playing tag in the airspace above me today. They make flight look so easy, and take advantage of thermals that we, on the ground, can't even see.
Dragonflies - I saw a huge one today, nowhere near water. What wonderful insects. Wouldn't you like their view as they hover overhead with such ease?
MSE DFD/DFW forumites advice - Sometimes you may not agree with it, sometimes you may not follow it. But the advice given so freely and so generously on here usually has a sound basis, and is grounded in someone's personal experience. This is so much more valuable than RL where folk seem to think, whatever the question, debt is the answer.
I hope that you all have had a great day and that you have a wonderful evening ahead of you. Thank you so much for popping by, reading and commenting. I greatly appreciate it.
See y'all later.

Evening all,
Sorry I've been MIA - don't you hate it when life gets in the way!
So....... I went along to my interview yesterday: and wondered whether it was part of some strange initative test when I got within 20 yards of the front door of the building and found it sealed off by security tape. But no, they were genuinely shifting equipment with a very large crane right outside the front door. So it was a quick trot round the corner in my high heels and in through the goods entrance! I honestly couldn't tell how the interview went, I answered all the questions and didn't make any completely idiotic comments, but did wonder whether I was a bit too "me" and not quite professional enough. There were four of us being interviewed and they promised to let us know later in the day.
Sure enough - 4 hours later I got a phone message: and they've offered me the job :T:T:T I am well and truely gob-smaked and a chuffed little bunny. Even better, not only is it a promotion, but they haven't put me at the bottom of the new pay grade so I'm getting quite a nice wee pay rise.
I must have been more stressed about it than I thought because I got home, had two glasses of some nice fizzy wine Mr 7WW had brought in - and then had to go to bed with a really sore stomach. I'll spare you the details - but the carpet between the bedroom and the bathroom has been severley worn down over night:o
Tonight has been quite subdued, but I can report I haven't let the new job go to my head! I checked out the reductions at the wonderful co-op at the end of the road and managed to score a big tub of ricotta cheese for 40p: so I must google for recipes involving chard, ricotta and courgettes. I'm thinking pasta or pancakes is the way to go.
So, quite enough about me. I'm sorry operation washing machine is proving to be a long drawn out affair. I don't suppose any of your neighbours would let you have the use of their machine for a couple of weeks?
Time for bed - what with one thing and another I'm a bit sleep deprived right now.
Have a good day tomorrow when it comes - Yeah it's Friday!0 -

Good Morning :hello:
Just a quick note from me this morning - collective sighs all round
Today should be a NSD, can't think that we need anything
I was thinking about how much good news we've had shared this week and how good it was to be able to celebrate folks achievements.
Dinner yesterday ended up being minted courgette and feta pasta. It was actually very nice and there was sufficient left over for snap boxes today. Dinner was going to be pizza and HM fries tonight, but I'll say 'watch this space' at the moment, as it has been something of a 'substitution bonanza' this week
I didn't realise that there was a 'daily' thread on the DFW board. I knew there was one on OS, but hadn't seen the DFW one. The opening paragraph resonated with me, that it is about the 'small stuff' that you do everyday that helps you toward DF status. The WM situation has rather swamped the small steps that I was making with the 'key' fund up until this week. I'll try very hard to get back on track and re-focus accordingly. The WM situation will sort itself out somehow - not sure how - but it'll be sorted.
Thank you for reading, popping by, commenting and for being here and being supportive. I greatly appreciate it.
Have a great Friday.
See y'all later.

Morning all,
Thanks for all your good wishes - it still hasn't quite sunk in yet:)
I was laughing to myself this morning about all the different words for packed lunches. Greying has "snap boxes", up here we have our "lunchtime piece" but I think the best one is from the North East, where it is "Bait". That caught my brother out wonderfully. He works on boats and is a keen fisherman in his spare time. He was in Northumbria for a boat safety course and when he was picked up by one of the locals for his last day of the course the local asked him "Have you got your bait?" My poor brother spent the whole morning thinking they were going to bunk off early and go fishing!!
I hope everybody's Friday goes well and frugally, and here's to a weekend of re-grouping and re-focussing.0
