Also yaay to pancakes, nomnomnom. Yes, GP, fave cous was well wowed , I CAN MAKE DAHL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks , both, for the recipe, I sort of used the ingredients of one and the method of the other, and I am thrilled with the result. Thank you, thank you really, thank you.
Today I am going on a 2 hour course called 'grow and cook' I have no idea, either, but am looking forward to it, and .....we get to keep what we make, so lunch sorted too.
Yesterday was not an NSD, I gave my neighbour/friend a lift to work, so I bought the things I'd need in the next few days while I was there, as I think it is an economy, not using the car today to shop.
I am wondering about having one or two non meat days a week, as your recipes sound lush, and the pics are lovely. xxxxx0 -
Hello Greying
Shrove Tuesday! The dreaded last delivery from Sainsbo is today, and it has eggs in - I may *have* to have pancakes
Kem10 - thank you about the sig - I found the quote on here originally, via Crafty Scholar, its by Ralph Marston.
Greying, you sounded very contented indeed yesterday - lovely! Have a good Pancake Day2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hey up lovlies - gives a wave. I found you on the third page keeping the breakfast gang going so I've lobbed in some daffodils for the table (from me pots don't you know) and put the kettle on........
Thanks for the wave, I hope the queues today weren't too bad (queues another thing I have to look forward too) and that you got the essentials at a decent price.
I'm glad you're seeing how far you're comingsometimes difficult to see the path from the trees or whatever that saying is.
Have a lovely evening with pancakes if there's not an 'egg crisis' doon sooth.
Again thanks for the posts and wee reminders about stuff that is important rather than 'stuff'.holds plate in anticipation of a pancake being lobbed in my direction

Good Evening :hello:
Visitors, how luverly
in need of direction - I take it you like pancakes then? :rotfl:mrsinvisible wrote: »Yes, GP, fave cous was well wowed , I CAN MAKE DAHL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHOOP! - that is all that matters mrsinvisible - bravo :T
Pippi - queues short (to the point of none) and eggy peggys available by the box load :T
Karma- :rotfl::rotfl:
Ay up Piq - 'fraid the pancakes will be a while yet. DP is doing the washing up, and then I'll be at the stove again
Today turned out well. It was a spends day, but I got the 'essentials', plus, because there was no queue at the PO, I had time to wander over to the book shop and peruse Jack's book. Wonderful is the verdict. Best cookery book I've seen in a long while. Useable and with recipes to suit all tastes/abilities and dietary requirements. I wish her publishers would 'do a jaymee' and make a copy available in every library, as it is better than 'Save' in my humble opinion. I also had a waft through MandSfoodall, and snagged some YS'd veg - aubergines and chestnut mushrooms. Reduced to 50% of asking price, so nothing absolutely barginacious, but pretty good going for round here........ In addition, aubergines and mushrooms are on my list, so to get them cheaper is always a bonus
I have converted 2 of the aubergines into bhuna curry, using Memorygirl's recipe. The other aubergine is for a dish that is coming up next week - may have to bring that forward to this week...... The mushrooms have been sliced and frozen for a new recipe that I want to try out later in the month.
Dinner (main course) this evening was carrot and coriander soup with cardamom flatbreads. Picture here;
So, today I am grateful for these 3 things;
herbs and spices - that transform our food so.
getting bargains and being able to transform them into meals for DP and I - it all helps budget maintenance
for folk popping on to the thread and leaving kind comments and flowers - you have made me smile, thank you all very much
Thank you for popping in, reading and commenting. I appreciate it - greatly.
Right, stand by your plates, I'm away to make pancakes
See y'all later.
