It just wasn't for me, and I wish i'd made the narnar cake now :rotfl:

So, fresh new week, Monday already. The radio is reporting from somewhere in Surrey, where the residents are still wading about in 2ft of water in their homes. I just cannot contemplate how absolutely soul-destroying that must be - especially as they are saying they have had little or no help. 8 sandbags delivered 4 days after the houses flooded??
    Greying

I made banana cake(s) at the weekend as had some old nanas to use up. One fell apart when I turned it out but I have frozen it in pieces and will use as pudding with some custard. Family were round yesterday for daughter's belated birthday lunch. Huge lasagne/pizza/salad/garlic bread, followed by gateau - totally demolished by 4 adults and 2 7yr old boys. Great time afterwards playing the alphabet game - name items in different categories beginning with each letter. Decided that we are dispensing with the letter 'X' and going to a 25 letter alphabet in future. Does anyone know a vegetable or fruit beginning with 'X'? Would also make lists tidier as you can split 25 letters into 5 lots of 5 - much better than 26 letters.
Agree with you GP about the flooding victims. Daughter and I were saying that no matter about our worries at the moment, the thought of losing our homes (and not knowing if you will ever get them back) must be dreadful, and all the politicians arguing about whose fault it is doesn't help either.

Lentil bolognese. Thank you - just added to my meal plan as we speak. I have a recipe for that from student days that I haven't touched in years. Off to dust it off. :)

Have a great day. Got to finish the meal plan then off to Aldi to spend as little as possible!

kackleful, you're commenting fine, no problem. Don't even worry if you hit the spam button - its very close to the others, and my mouse jumps sometimes (erm, the electronic one), all I do is push the spam button again, and it un-reports it, so to speak. Have a mooch around the site won't you? Even though you're in Oz, there's a lot of benefit to be gained on hints for everyday stuff.

Greying, hope your NSD is going to plan, and there's mucho 'roadkill' where you are :)

Me neither, Beanie - if I manage to chop fresh veg, its a real victory. Otherwise, its frozen, or salad where I can just eat it raw - but thats one of the reasons I like Greying's writing about food :)

  • :D I like it too girls cos I'm a virtual gannet and the grub always looks so yummy and reading it all is also calorie free :D

Karma I. Ind you made something yummy with frozen veg - I dont tend to buy it - must look not that more as jaymoo did ago eat with cauliflower and brocolli which looked ace and wasnt very costy.

I only buy frozen peas to put n rice etc, not very adventurous me, another reason I love it here beanie - lots of luscious ideas which I gooey eye all over and poor greying does all the cooking :-)

  • Yes, GPs photos are always a feast for the eyes. I love the look of the crumble...slurp...and custard...yum! This afternoon I made the choc porridge cake and although it cracked at the top it still looks and smells edible :rotfl: I used an 18cm round tin as it was all I had which is possibly why it cracked? Anyway, it's now cooling and will be tasted later :j.
Have a lovely evening all ....

    Good Morning :hello:

Sorry for the no show last night. RL has a way of scuppering plans eh?

Thank you for all your comments. I have read them and will respond to them. You have no idea how supportive you all are on a daily basis.

I'm going to need to spend today, we need milk and bananas - can't feed DP frozen narnars... think of the dentist bill :rotfl:So I'll try and get the TV guide too, and then that is expenditure sorted. Yesterday was a NSD, I need to update me sig fig.

The 'student grub challenge' is going well, and working. Last night's dinner was edible :rotfl:

I hope to be a better correspondent.

Thank you all, for reading, commenting and contributing. I greatly appreciate it.

    See y'all later.
