Hey hello!
Watching Scandamania on plus one - do like a bit of that programme.
Rumblethumps I just love - my granny use to make it - thank you so much for mentioning it and the link - it makes me giggle. Bit like rumplestiltskin meets stovies.
Pizza looked a bit yum too. Love a bit of black olives.
Have a great week me dear, and all your fellow readers new and longstanding.

The Farrell/Cusitter incident - was that not the one following the extremely late tackle? We watched both the England match and the Ireland one yesterday so my mind may be playing tricks on me there, but there was certainly an incident where a player tackled VERY late, and there was indeed reaction to that, and a small quantity of handbags ensued...
Those scones look amazing - I have stew on my meal plan for this week, and half a savoy cabbage plus a swede in the fridge....Hmmm!LOVE the name of them too! :rotfl:
Have to confess to not being a fan of the Fraoch Ale - a little too floral for me. The vast majority of my favourite beers do seem to be Scottish though, including my absolute favourite which is a very local brew to Pippi - she took me to visit the brewery there bless her! :T You'd enjoy that one too Greying - Dark Island - by Orkney Brewery.
We actually got the gas supply into the flat re-connected so we could switch back to a gas cooker - the cost of cooking on electric is so extortionate. Ours gets used a fair amount and our gas use (we only have the gas for cooking) comes in at under £5 a month. I wouldn't swap back through choice I have to say, and do feel sorry for those who are tied to electricity for their cooking.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hello Greying! Just catching up after RL made for an extra-busy weekend (in a good way). Rumblies look lurvely, tho I'm still stuck on wanting to try previous recipes
Must say, tho, that 5/9 NSD sounds pretty good to me - you're out and about all the time, the spends you *do* have are pretty much all planned, you're doing great. I know you want the food budget extra Frugal this February
but still, its going so well

2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Good Evening :hello:
I'm going to declare 'early' tonight as I am absolutely zoinked (technical term) lack of sleep is beginning to catch up with me. However, I intend to try to change the pattern and I'm hopeful of a full night's sleep tonight.
Hopefully normal service will be resumed tomorrow:D:p
Thank you Pippi, EH and Karma for commenting and for everyone else who's popped by today.

Good Morning :hello:
Karma, Ellidee and Beanie - cheers, thank you so much:kisses3:
So, 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep :j:j:j
Only to end up in an argument with DP at half five in the morning, because........ he'd been awake half the night with *stuff* floating around his mind, and naturally, *somehow* it is all my fault...... *sigh* And of course, as many people are saying, the weather is not helping.
Anyhoo, let's not dwell on my carpola.
We've woken up to heavy rain, and of course people are really suffering around the country. My heart goes out to them. Especially where they are feeling that they are getting no help/information whatsoever.
I made some decisions yesterday and I can act on them from todayI took all the *stuff* off the top shelf in the cupboard that has been keeping the shelves warm and dust-free (I wish) for several years. Some of it has now been washed and packed up and it will start its exit to the charity shop hopefully today
Our plumber has been getting us stressed. He is being very vague and has not yet plugged into our *timeframe*. It may be because he is on countdown to go on hols with his kids, it may be that it is too much work for a one-man band. We are going to take the opportunity, whilst he is away, to thoroughly research prices and technical stuff. All decisions will be made when he returns, so he can no longer brush us off with,' well, it's up to you what you want'. We may yet need to switch plumbing firms.
Dinner last night was Urid dhal in a fenugreek sauce with rice (yes, I know we had rice the night before too - I'm seriously thinking of firing the bod who does the meal planning around here - they are clearly not up to scratch) I did take a pic, but have not loaded it yet, I will if I get the chance. It was another cheap and cheerful triumph, and used up the last of the urid dhal - which was already *some months* out of date :rotfl:
Dinner tonight is going to be a butternut squash and chickpea dish from the 'Save with Jaymee' book I got out of the library. I must be surrounded by millionaires where I live. It has been resolutely on the shelf since it was published, I think 2 people (including me) have taken it out ......
Again, thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to come and see me on this thread, and to support me. I appreciate it more than you will ever know.
I am sorry for the grump and mini-rant. I've got it out of my system now
Best get a wiggle on.
Have a great day - but keep safe, warm and dry too.
See y'all later.

You're still mentally on track GP, despite vague plumbers and sleep deprived OHs. Very unreasonable of you to sleep through his insomnia though....
Heavy rain here too, luckily no flooding but I do live on a hill. I was watching the news last night and I shed a tear or two for the poor woman being interviewed who was hugging her dog and trying not to cry at the damage to her home. The scenes of flooding are heartbreaking.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
