Ali - Merry Christmas to you too - thank you for your post - indeed, peace, love, warmth and happiness are sufficient for me!:D Especially as we have just got in from our walk - and I chose the wrong coat.... so am freezing! :rotfl:
I'm off to begin Christmas 'lunch' (?) prep in a minute - still wish DP had gone for the eating it later option......But just wanted to post up a pic of last night's dinner of meat-free 'spheres' in meditteranean sauce with wet polenta;
And, I would just like to wish a 'Nadolig Llawen' to everyone in the 'Principality' and I made these 'Cranberry and lemon' welsh cakes for us to take on our walk* with some hot chocolate. It was supposed to be 'elevenses' but let's just say timing slipped a little and the middle of the day passed before they were scoffed.....:rotfl:
I hope you are all having a great day. I'm away to the kitchen....
See y'all later.

Hi Grey,
I am indeed home now. SB truly excelled himself. Pretty impressive that the first whole meal you ever cook is a full Christmas dinner.
That said your nut roast looks wonderful...do you have a favoured recipe, I'm a huge fan of cranberries so extra yum there.
I'm hoping to go for a nice walk tomorrow with the Husky. Won't be far as I've still got a drain in but hopefully get that out on Friday morning. They were working high into my arm which is why there's been so much pain but radiotherapy to my neck may be the next option...bit scary tbh.
Loving the thread and the kind thoughts. I hope you and DP continue to have a great break.

Good Morning :hello:
tunathecat, stressed.mum and Verbatim - thank you all for popping in and posting. Lovely to *see* you
Ellidee, EH and Piq - I forgot my manners and was remiss to not thank you for the sprouts you lobbed at me........ I think....... :rotfl:
Well, we started the day right, with a lovely sleep in - a rare thing
We didn't bother with anymore seasonal food/drink last night. We had a cup of coffee and a bag of crisps whilst watching Bear & mrFry - good prog that, glad we watched it - and that was our Christmas DayDP did mutter something about, 'if we'd of had pudding, what was it going to be.....' as we were dropping into the land of nod, but it will all keep for another day
So, I'd better get on with the picnic prep. Hot drinks are possibly going to be the most important thing todayAlthough I am sure DP will disagree with me there....:rotfl:
I must remember to get the lentil dhal out of the freezer, but I didn't get around to making the curry - surprise, surprise. But actually, there was no room to put it anywhere in the fridge or freezer so I'll have to make it on the hoof when we get back.
kissjen- I always base nut roast on the recipe in a veggie society pamphlet that I have, that I have just realised is over 21 years old  It works really well and, within reason, you can add in ingredients and it still works. And seen as it's just you and me talking, and I know that you won't let on.... the cranberries were very nearly 12 months OOD But they plumped up beautifully in a little hot water and were good in the welsh cakes and nut roast. I hope you have a wonderful time out walking with the Husky todayLovely to *see* you
Right, time is ticking. Better get on.
Have a wonderful day - I'm going toAnd there is no reason why today couldn't be a NSD, so I shall be aiming to 'grabbit'
Ta for popping in, reading and commenting. I continue to be grateful
See y'all later.
