  • and (carefully) dispose of it

perhaps I should have put the word "carefully" in capital letters and bolded it. I thought it was sufficient to put "carefully" in in brackets

as in looking up the exact way to dispose of it safely - which is what I meant.

i've been treating my JK for a few years now, we didnt know we had it till it was pointed out to us, by that time it was a mess, thankfully very little was in our garden ( none left in our property anymore thankfully) but as the land outside our fenced boundary is full of the stuff and no one knows who owns the land we have been treating it ourselves so that it doesnt land back on our property.

i spray it with Clinic Ace which is a glysophate type thing, i spray it at the start of the growing season, then when that seems to have worked my husband digs up a load of the roots, everything is burned in a brazier outside the property, then as the summer progresses we spray as often as we can, we then give it a good spray at the end of the season so that the glysophate is drawn back into the roots, we have done this now for 5 years and slowly we are defeating it year by year, we now have what we laughingly refer to as a fire break of the stuff of about 6 feet, but we wont be happy till it is fully eradicated from anywhere near our property

It isnt the end of the world having it, however not dealing with it could be very costly ( although in saying that so is dealing with it)

what annoys us most about our situation is it didnt start on our land, it started on the land next to ours, but we are having to pay for it

good luck in dealing with it op, if i can help in anyway let me know :)

I seem to have a vague memory of an article where someone injected the stems with some kind of weed killer - anyone else come across this?
