Ryanair Ripoff!

Hi folks,

Am new to the posts, and have already posted this message, but I think I put it in the wrong place. Daily Mail and Martin have published details of a Ryanair Offer of £10 tickets including tax to many destinations.

I wanted to travel from LPL to ABZ either 12/6 - 14/6 or week after. No mention whatsoever of this offer on the website. When you put details in for "find cheapest flights". They are £4.99 + £17.50 tax & ins for first week and £00.01 + £17.50 for the week after.

If you check the telephone numbers for the website, it's 10p per minute, only to find out, you then have to ring another number at £1.00 per minute to speak to anyone. It would end up costing you more for the phone call than for the flight. Total rip off!

Has anybody else been able to bag a £10 flight. Would be interested to hear your comments on this.

Kind Regards

I bagged flight from EMA to Dublin for 2 people return for 4p + £5 for baggage. I cant complain at that. Ryanair take a lot of stick and having never flown with them I can't particularly comment. For these type of deals I think you had to fly between a monday and thursday and not in holidays or when any sporting events where on.

Giving a total return fare of thirty five pounds. Surely that is less than a train ticket, less even than the cost of driving that distance. Somewhat higher than the twenty pounds you had expected, but not exactly a rip-off.

    Scottish Princess,

If you do a search on this board you will see that hundreds of us have secured incredibly low cost flights with Ryanair.

Lots of folk have found cheap flights with the latest promotion - I got return flights from Durham Tees Vally to Dublin for 2 of us for the grand total of 8p [inc taxes]
The bargains were there - but I guess just not the dates you wanted.
No one is forcing you to pay £35 so it can't be a rip off

The really cheap (£10 all in) and ridiculously cheap (1p all in) flights are limited in number and therefore sell out quickly but they do exist. Just wait for the next promo to come along and move quickly when it does.

I managed to grab 2 £10 flights to Dublin from EMA at the end of June.

not bagged a £10 flight but did manage to get the 1p ones ;):D

lots managed ,you have to be flexible on dates and/or location
  • Hi,

I'm not saying the cost is a rip off. What I'm complaining about is the fact that they are advertising these flights available NOW in June 07 and there is nothing about them on the website. Martin says they have extended the deadline until this Thursday, but no flights are to be had at the moment at these prices.

Why should they advertise best deals on website.

Website deals are too easy & for lazy people.

    Scottish Princess - Welcome to MoneySavingExpert.com! :D

OK, what you need to do is use the flightchecker and narrow down the search to £1 flights and under. Then using basic trial and error you can check out the flights the flightchecker shows costing £0.01. Not all these flights will be the cheap ones but keep at it and hopefully you'll find it. Here's the thread in case you haven't seen it already :)
