Mbna ppi

Hi there
I have not yet claimed for any PPI as I was told recently that I had nothing form a PPI company, but have been contacted by MBNA directly to say that I did pay some PPI on an old credit card and have sent me a form to complete. Another claim handling company has also phoned me and said not to put the claim in directly with MBNA as they will say I am not entitled and then I won't be able to put in another claim. Is this correct?
Any advice would be greatly received.
Thanks

They're correct in that you only get one go at claiming. And they want to make sure they get their cut of anything you receive.

But their claim will be no more or less successful that yours. Assuming you can address an envelope and can accurately affix a stamp to it, you're as qualified as them.

Exactly what zx81 says, they want a cut. Just do it yourself.

When they told you you had nothing, did they tell you in a letter or a an e-mail?

If they did, write back tot hem and tell them you're cancelling your contract based on the their original findings.

If you don't do as taff has said, the claims co will want their fee plus Vat if you win,and you will have to pay it.
  • I did sign a contract, but they wrote back to me to say that they could not find any evidence of me paying PPI. This was about 12 months ago.

If you have the proof in writing that the claims co are closing your file, do the claim form for MBNA and let them know that you are doing the claim and they should not contact the claims co in any way.
