Parking Eye PCN...HELP!!!

Hi all,
My husband received a postal PCN from Parking Eye after parking at an Aldi store (London) over the maximum stay authorised of 1 hour.
The PCN was issue on Jul 2nd but was received on Jul 8th and we are given only until Jul 16th to pay the reduced charge.
The fine is for £70 and reduced to £40 if paid within 14 days.
Our initial though was to ignore it as with private companies contract law rather than criminal law applies, but we are not so sure now.
Could anyone provide some help as to what our next plan of actions should be?
Thank you

Soft appeal to Parking Eye. Lots of examples of "soft" appeals on this forum, find one you like, adapt it as you wish, and post it up here for us to check before you send it. They will of course reject it, so then we'll help you with your real appeal to POPLA.
Complain to Aldi. Strongly.
Go to Aldi's Facebook page and tell them what you think of them.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Aldi have recently posted that they will deal with any genuine tickets.
Take them up on it.0 -

Obviously complain with receipts, to the Aldi contact email or phone number discussed at length on this thread:

Aldi are at fault, these are their agents and Aldi must cancel it. Be assertive in your contact with Aldi.
If no joy then you will have to challenge it to Parking Eye sending a copy of your receipt and saying that you are 'in the process of a serious complaint with Aldi over this ridiculous matter, and as a genuine customer you are outraged at being harassed by a notorious parasitic agent which offers nothing to Supermarkets or their customers.'
By the way, it is NOT a 'fine'!!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I've just thought. How can a company have a 2 hour or less time limit on parking when they are called AL-DI ?0
-
What date was the parking event? What is the postmark on the envelope?0

So post #2 and #3 sum up what you need to do to get this cancelled. Your contact with Aldi should NOT be a polite enquiry!
