Obviously that depends where you are, maybe not in an inner city (don't know though). I'd love to run a little campsite, just a 5 van CL/CS for which you don't need planning permission. When I win lottery I'm going to buy a house with land so I can do just that!

As this has dropped down the OS board, I've moved it to the most appropriate board for you

Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Your correct, you don't need planning, but you need to be affiliated to an exempted organisation such as Caravan Club or camping and caravanning club (plus a few others).
There are also some minimum requirements, such as fresh water, bins, and chemical disposal point, as well as reasonabe access.

What is the land currently registered as, this will have some bearing on your possible options.

from recollection you can use land for the stationing of caravans for up to 28 days a year without the need for planning permission. any longer and i think you do. notwithstanding the above you would need planning permission for any other associated structures you put on the land to service the campsite.
