Ukpc ticket

could i possibly have some advice. I parked in a car park yesterday which i have been parking in for year, it says free parking for 2 hours and i never stuck a ticket on, but was there under the 2 hours and they are trying to charge me £100. I've always parked there without a ticket and did not realise you had to put on one even if you were there for less than 2 hours, as ive never been there over 2 hours i have never went near the pay and display signs. There is small blue sign saying have you displayed a ticket, but i always thought it meant if you were paying.. This is in Dundee Scotland. There is cctv so that must be able to prove how long i was there, and i even have a ticket to say what time the kids went in the pool which is a 30 second walk from the car park..

    Why the long face?

You are in Scotland so the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 does not apply, there is NO registered keeper liability in Scotland. No appeals procedure is worth trying and in any case you MUST NOT tip them off about who was driving!

They would have to know who the driver was (not a blurry pic on CCTV of a nameless person!). Do not give them those details on a plate (even if they had the details they could NOT show any loss whatsoever). This is just a scam, an invoice not a fine, and ignoring it and the letters that follow is just like deleting phishing emails. It cannot affect your credit rating, same as phishing emails, it's a con impersonating authority.

Ignore the whole thing like we all used to in England/Wales, this time last year! A few debt collector letters filed in a drawer and they'll give up! :)
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I've had 11 tickets from UKPC and ignored all of them, including their follow-up debt collection 'threats'. They're nothing to worry about.

So does the ticket guy know you? They aren't the police you know, there will not be an identity parade!
