Replacing laminate with carpet - leave underlay down?

As title, I'm replacing laminate with carpet and have purchased carpet/underlay/grippers which are being fitted tomorrow by independent fitters.

I'm just busting up the laminate and wondering about leaving the 4mm underlay down. It's foil backed so would add insulation and smooths over some repaired parts of the chipboard flooring.

The carpet is also quite [STRIKE]cheap[/STRIKE]good value, so am thing more underlay would add 'give' and make it feel like a deeper pile. :D

UPDATE - left the 4mm underlay down, put the grippers and 10mm carpet underlay over that. All fine.
