Question for Financial Advisors

Hi All,

I have recently completed CeMap and have my exams for Cefa 2, 3 and 4 coming up.

I'm a little worried as I'm only young and a few years ago I had 2 x defaults registered against me. They were only for small amounts and have been cleared since. I have a few items on my credit search that show payments have never been missed.

Are these going to end all hope's of becoming a Financial Advisor until they are removed from my credit search? If so, what other avenue could I look at doing with 2 x small cleared defaults that would take advantage of my qualifications?

Kind Regards

They can have a negative impact with some firms and it any outstanding CCJs would prevent you holding some control functions. However, they are only on their for a limited period so if they are historical, it shouldnt be a problem.

I don't have CCJ's - just 2 defaults. I've spoken to the FSA who said that it probably wouldn't be a problem getting approved for some functions but how would firms who I am applying to view this?

You'll be fine I'm sure, as long as they are historical.

You mentioned it was a "few years ago". I would say that it would be OK, as long as you haven't had any issues since.
