Student Loan 3 year harassment

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone here has experienced anything similar and if they have any advice for me. Apologies in advance for the wall of text.
I had a student loan in the first 2 years of my 3 year university course . I was very fortunate to have my loan paid off in full so I did not need one for the third year. So essentially I left university without a loan whatsoever. Not long after leaving uni and getting a job I was contacted by the student loans company and asked for my employment details. I confirmed with the representative that I had no loan to pay and he agreed they didn't need my details.
About a year went by with me having all my paychecks sent to my parents house (this meant I did not check them). When I did get around to reading them I noticed I had been charged for a student loan. Roughly 800 pounds had been taken from my pay. In my mind this was as bad as stealing. I had not given them access to my employment information and I owed them nothing.
In the end after weeks I got a refund with a meager amount of interest. End of story?
This week about a year and a half after the last issue I have had a letter from the Student Loan Company. They have also tried contacting my parents. Apparently a year and a half ago they gave me a "LOAN" of around 800 pounds plus interest....
Is there anything I can do and also am I entitled to any compensation.

Ring them up and say you don't believe you owe anything and ask them to close the account they have on you.0

Do you have a statement showing the repayment of your loan was made? Did the repayment include the interest that is added from the 1st day you take the loan?
Student Loans work continually to match repayment details with HMRC and therefore this is how the system has caught you.
You could write to the complaints team, details available on https://www.slc.co.uk, asking them to investigate your account. Would be advisable to provide proof of your repayment to SLC.0
