Won a holiday - whats the catch?

As mentioned in an earlier post - no -one seems to take up the free holiday. In our case this was because you have decide within 7 days where and when you want to go - so not very flexible. You also have to give several choices - so you may not get your first choice.
In addition to which we had a phone call asking why we had not taken up the free holiday - and then got offered an alternative venue. Which had a £75.00 booking fee plus you pay for your air tickets - but accomodation upgraded to 4/5**** . It would still have been a cheap holiday - but you have to sit through the obligatory sales pitch at least once during your holiday.
I did look at the holiday venue on a punters who have been there site! And it is miles out - not particularly fantastic - you need to hire a car if you want to go anywhere - and prices for drinks are expensive and meals available were pretty much non descript!! and to be honest the accomodation is not that good. Added to which the earliest we could be offered was October - but as it's out of season - no entertainment - only two pools of 13 would be available etc etc.
So we let it go!! albeit not very reluctantly!! :rolleyes:Expect the worst, hope for the best, and take what comes!!:o0 -
Thanks again swamp - we will NOT be going
