No - come on Hamish - it's not rocket science!0 -
House prices rising faster than inflation is, in general and only in my opinion, a bad thing. It excludes young people & first time buyers from the market. It makes it more difficult for new families to upgrade. It makes buy to let leaches even richer (I've no real problem with the second property brigade, just the ones buying up whole neighbourhoods). Usual pattern, the already rich get richer, the poor get.....well you know the rest.Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0

Prices up 10K in a year, and up 25K in 4 years, yet most of them still can't buy a house thanks to mortgage rationing.

One of them goes to the doctor and gets medicine. He gets better in a week.
The other one stays at home worrying about his illness. He gets better in a month.
Does the person who used the medicine on offer from society have an "unfair advantage" over the person who didn't?
PMSL at this.
Hamish, your explanation are becoming more and more "out there" every week that passes.0 -

My explanations are not out there.
I want my house to increase in price as much as possible.
I don't care how mortgaged up the young have to get and I don't care what situation people like you are in.
Money number 1.
If you cant pay move aside. We love Sarah O Grady0 -

What are you going to do with this inflated asset to allow you to use its stored "wealth"?"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

The medicine being provided is antibiotic. It may make the patient better for a short while. But the illness builds resistance to the antibiotic. It cures fewer and fewer patients and the illness left just becomes a bigger issue to treat.
Of even more concern is the doctor doesn't care about the long term consequences."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
