I am sure that this question has been raised numerous times. I was buying jet tec ink from A
value shop with no problem.
i now have a new printer Epson XP 605 I have just ordered some Epson ink from Amazon for £26 for the set. This is a good price for Epson ink but don't want to buy it in the long term. Jettec does not seem to have ink for this printer at the moment.
See lots of ink out there but I am apprehensive as the previous printer failed as it would not print the black obviously some problem with the print head. There is talk of guarantee being void if Epson ink is not used.
opinion would be appreciated. I have never bought anything from eBay as I am not sure how the paypal works and I would not want to use my credit card to buy from them Advice on this also would welcome. Many thanks

Don't know much about inks, but I use Paypal when I can, especially with unknown suppliers, as they form a kind of firewall between you and the seller.
You order the item from the seller, but payment is made via your account with Paypal, who pay the seller from THEIR account.
This means the seller never sees your credit/debit card details. You do of course have to trust Paypal with your credit info though. You can lose a loose goose.
You cannot loose a lose goose.
Get it? Now use it before you lose it.
or - Try using it - not losing it.0 -
Thanks I will have a look at setting up an account.0

Is it an Epson Expression Premium XP-605 printer? If so the link below may be of interest.

In my Brother printer I use the 'think' compatible cartridges from them. The company's service has been good as have the cartridges. I have no connection other than as a customer.0 -
Thank you, I have had a look and the pack at £28+ has much more ink than the Epson I have ordered. I have read the info and I will give them a go next time.

I have hit a problem. The Epson ink I had ordered arrived today. It was not boxed there was no information with it other 5 separate inks Each one airtight in the usual way. Epson was written on the side of the cartridges but other than this nothing. At front 26 . I was unhappy as what was shown on the web page it said Polar Bear range with the 4 cartridges same as is on the Epson Web Site. I then noted that 2 people who had purchased ink had remarked that the ink arrived in the same way as mine just a padded envelope and an invoice stating cost of £26. When the others had questioned it they were told that they were like this and the lower price reflected what they had sent. This is a brand new printer and I wanted to use Epson ink at least in the short term.
I emailed the company (Market Place Amazon) stating that the ink was not as described or shown on their web site. I felt that it was misrepresented and told them this. They replied that it informed me that they stated that the cartridges were loose and that it stated this as well as saying that this was why the price was discounted. I checked and rechecked and there this is not the case. I spoke to Epson and they tell me that their product will always be boxed as a set.
They had stated that I could return the ink and have a full refund. I feel I was misled and therefore I am going to return the ink. I have never had a situation like this my question is will they refund me. I did call Amazon and the person who spoke to me forwarded the email from the company involved. Any view or has something similar to this happened to anyone else. Thanks sorry to bother you with this do you think I am doing the right thing?

If the product was described as 'compatible', then it's not genuine Epson, and it's not mis-described.
Whether they're separate carts or in a sealed pack is not really relevant.
Suggest you post a link to the actual item.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Don't know how to post a link Have have cut and pasted. Not sure if this is ok

If they arrived in clear but sealed packets with Epson embossed on the cartridges, and the yellow tab is in place, you could ask the supplier why they removed them from the sealed box. If the reason seems OK then you could consider keeping them as they are unlikely to be anything other than genuine Epson.
I have had replacement printers sent directly from Epson and they have arrived with a set of inks which were loose, so it does happen.0
