Unblocking Sink Products Recommendations

Does anyone have any opinions on the best products for unblocking sinks?
My sink is a little slow in emptying at times and I see at the supermarket that there is quite an array of brands; they almost invariably involve emptying the entire contents of a bottle down the sink hole and leaving for 15 minutes, 3 hours or overnight.
I would be keen to know what other people’s experiences have been with any of main brands before I buy.
Thank you.

Try caustic Soda Wilkos sell it or soda crystals might help
Caustic soda to cure and soda crystals for prevention0 -
I tried all the main brands on my kitchen sink. None worked
I ended up digging up the floor and replacing the pipes. It empties like a dream now.
Just a thought... have you removed the trap and cleaned it out?0 -
haven't looked into the trap...perhaps may need to if unblocker doesn't do the trick.0

Why would you buy something if you can (at least try) sort it yourself?0 -
Whilst taking the trap off is the cheap way of fixing it, it's a pretty messy and unpleasant job. You need to make sure all the rubber washers etc go back the right way or they'll leak.
Our shower trap starts to run slow after about six months, usually getting clogged with long hair from my wife and daughter. I've always used Mr Muscle sink & drain unblocker and usually half a bottle. I do it last thing at night and by the morning the trap is sparkling clean and running fine.0 -

Usually this is symptomatic of a deeper problem in your plumbing . . .
Get someone in to have a look.
Drain cleaners have got to be one of the most overrated things in the whole universe!!

OH is a plumber, and he uses something called one-shot. I know nothing about it, or where you get it from, but it works a treat.0

9 times out of 10 you are just tipping it down the drain aren't you?
Unless the pipe has been plugged and the cleaner trapped in the pipe for a few hours the benefits are minimal . . . .
Also caustic soda is extremely harmful so take care!I was going to put the name of my plumbing business here so you know what I do should I give out any advice plumbing wise - however apparently I cant do that - go figure!!!!!
