Rented Property - LetterBox Issue

Hi.
I live in a rented maisonette. The landlord got a company to replace the front door while I was away.
I have come back and it turns out the new door has no letterbox!
This means there is no way for the postman to deliver letters to me.
I have raised this issue on the landlord and I am waiting to hear back. I was wondering if anyone could shed light on where I stand legally as not having a postbox is currently a real nightmare!
Thanks

Ask the LL to put one of those lockable ones outside (the ones that can be attached to an outer wall) and provide you with the key. Easier than putting one in a new door I would suspect, and it also means you won't get any nasties posted into your hallway.
It may have been a genuine oversight when the LL was ordering the new door (not to request one with a letterbox) or the company has fitted the wrong type.0 -
Put your request to the LL in WRITING (yes, a letter) at the address provided.
Is it a wooden door? Ask for a joiner to cut a letter box.
Is it upvc? Ask for an external box eg

I'm surprised the LL can do this without giving you notice of intended works? Whilst you my not do much about it, would've been polite to do so0

He certainly showed no concern or objection to the door having been fitted - just understandable surprise that it turned out to have no letter box.
Indeed, for all we know, he asked for a new front door!
Furthermore, LL may have just instructed a contractor to fit one, and not realised it would not have a letterbox, so may be equally surprised.0 -

Let's hope the LL hasn't got themselves a new front door as well...Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -

I think, in the meantime, you can ask the GPO to hold your post at a post office /sorting office.0
