My local Thomas Cook shop always try to match or better their on-line price.

Online always tends to be cheaper.

We booked with Thomson last year using their high street shop, they tempted us with 'book early deals' etc

We went the day the holidays were released and booked.

Got home, looked up the holiday online and the EXACT same holiday was £350 cheaper.

Went in and complained and they gave me the...'we have the expertise here, overheads blah blah'...they eventually gave us £200 back. Not happy so booked online this year and have also booked for next year..online.

High street have lost our business.

Thomas cooks prices are the same across the board, shop telephone internet, although the shops do have a little negotiating power and with this weather will be glad of your business. Thomsons prices are cheaper on the net and generally a Thomson shop will not match their internet price for free but a TC shop will probably be happy to match your Thomson price. Try it you've nothing to lose.

Of course online is cheaper, they don't have the staff and the overheads as mentioned.
The shops try to match the price, but it's better to have a booked in a shop if you have a problem.

I priced a thomson holiday online this week then went into the high street shop and they said they would match the price but could not better it. Last year when I did the same the high street shop said they would match the price but would charge £20 per person for admin fees.

i always price online print off and take into high st shop.
have done this for years now and the price is always matched.
the last few years thomson/first choice shops have charged £10 for handling the booking but said they were not allowed to better the online price

I've not been impressed with our local Thomson high street shop at all.

The above holiday (that I mentioned above that was £350 cheaper online) they made a real mess of before we even left the country.

We had no phone call about the tickets so 10 days before we were due to go on holiday we went in to chase it up, then they couldn't find our pack of stuff? eventually it was found and the girl went through the details where we discovered that out 2pm flight was now at 7am!!! no one had told us this, no phone call, email - nothing!

we have 4 kids and had booked a mini-bus to the airport, luckily the taxi company was able to re -jig their bookings and accommodate us but I was so cross with the shop for not informing us of this change.

I wrote to Thomsons and they didn't give a jot - blamed the shop!

    Rubbish customer service.
