Sun holiday abroad vs package

I want to take my family (3 children) abroad next easter. Dont want anywhere really hot. I am looking at sun holidays as i have a priority booking code but cant tell if this will work out more expensive because of booking the flights separately. North france/paris is an option or somewhere further and warmer. Anyone got any ideas, particularly if you have done a sun holiday in Europe and booked flights. Thanks

it will def be cheaper esp in school hols ! but then flight prices go up too ... why not drive ?

have been doing French SUN hols since Oct 2006. Always driven though either using the overnight ferry to Roscoff or Eurotunnel using Tesco clubcard deals

check which sites are open as many of the European ones don't open til May

Might manage a drive to north france but have 3 young children and would prefer to avoid it. Was thinking about some of the southern italy and north spain ones since it would be easter

It would work out about 300 for the weeks acommodation with service charge. Not sure how that compares to package.

Bella italia lake garda appears to be open at easter. I'm going to be trying for a europe site next easter, but have a feeling there will be no availability at all for the Europe parks.
Have a back up plan though so all ok.
