Help needed with POPLA appeal!

  • Thanks, I've complained to the Appeals Admin and will telephone today to make sure it's been received. I definitely attached my appeal to the email and sent a follow up email to check it had been received - I then received a reply from POPLA to say don't worry, your appeal attachment has been received.

Does anyone have anything I can use to back up my point to Ethical that the decision is only binding on the parking company, not the driver? I want to write to them with a copy of the email from my employer telling them to cancel my ticket, to say that if they do not stop contacting me requesting payment then I will take action for harrassment. So far they say 'POPLA appeal was refused therefore we cannot cancel the ticket' which is why I want some section of the legal wording to show them that the decision is only binding on them. Thanks

  • Just to update - I've contacted POPLA who say they have NO complaints procedure in place and the decision is final. They deny not having read my appeal and say I need to take legal action by employing a solicitor!

If they don't have a complaints procedure then why do they have a page on their website explaining how complaints are handled? https://www.popla.org.uk/Complaints.htm

As nigelbb states. I'd bang in a complaint to the Lead Adjudicator, regardless of what they say on the phone.

Did you have sight of the documentation between POPLA and the PPC? Did the PPC response cover all the points raised in your appeal?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
