Can I sack my estate agent?

The EA was a bit of a bulls**ter towards us and made some really bad errors (like having our house down as sold on their book when it wasn't). The second EA is much better and has got us one viewing. The way I see it, the EA should be giving me feedback whether or not we get viewings. Even passing comments made when people are given the details in the office should be fed back.
Like I said, I think the market is very fragile at present where I live - some houses prices are dropping £5 to £10k, others are stopping on the market for months and months (West Midlands, Sandwell area if you wanted to know). I have the impression that EA turnover has really tumbled in the area and they are in denial - but thats just my opinion.0 -
Sounds like you have an issue with valuation, pricing is always tricky ... this time you may have been tricked by your neighbour.
If your agent gets out of hand you can always report them here: http://www.roea.co.uk/
You can try and get some more valuations or go for an AVM.
There are also some links for finding house prices values here: http://www.housereview.com/wiki/How_to_Value_a_House0 -
I take it you got mor ethan one valuation before putting your house on the market?
Either way, to be honest you agreed on a price and the agent found a buyer. You cant blam him for being negative about your property when he effectivly sold it for you as agreed only for you to move the goal posts. The fact that you have had no further offers / lack of interest makes me think that your agent was about right with the pricing, and now thinks that he will not sell it at the increased price. The lack of feedback may be a direct result of his disinterest because he think the price is to high.
Dont forget some areas are seeing a fall in prices, not the constant rises that we have seen before.0
