Adding a name to a Title Deed

Hi
I was wondering if someone could advise how to add a name to a property title deed?
My partner & I were wanting to move in together. We looked for the right property, viewed it, loved it, put in an offer and had it accepted. But when it came to signing all the paperwork he didn't even tell me he'd made an appointment - so the house is in his name. He has admitted to doing this on purpose because his ex-wife totally shafted him for EVERYTHING and he wanted to be sure that he would still have a house for him & his kids if it didn't work out between us.
That was 13 years ago & he has finally agreed to have my name added to the title deed but I don't know how we would go about this. Can anyone advise?
Thank you.
Marie

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.

You'll need to apply to the lender for a Transfer of Equity.
You'll be credit scored, and will have to provide proof of ID and address. If they approve you they'll issue a letter of consent, to you and your solicitor. Your solicitor will arrange for you to be added to the title deeds, when this is done they'll tell your lender, who will then add you to the mortgage.
Fee to the lender approx £160, solicitors fees around £400 - £600Early retired - 18th December 2014
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough0
