We're currently negotiating with our seller regarding roof repairs following a building survey.
The property is a victorian semi with slate roof. The survey says the roof needs complete re-slating in the next few years, but in the meantime there some slates that have moved/gone which need repairing.
There is daylight visible in the loft in a few places, for example.
Also, there is currently water coming in from at least one chimney, survey says this requires at least repointing and rebedding of pots flaunchings etc. Ideally though it would be rebuilt with a lead dpc in one of the courses.
The seller so far has offered to make "necessary repairs" to the roof, this was before I sent details of the chimney. Should we expect to get the chimney repointed as part of the necessary repairs?
