clips stop running

Of late, any clips I wish to view, ie youtube, or indeed anywhere else where someone has left a link, within a few seconds the clip stops running. Other than changing my system from '98 to XP, I wondered if this had anything to do with it, what do you think?

My first thought would be a bandwidth issue. Make sure you don't have anything else using/downloading from the net (You have broadband I trust?). You could check your BB connection speeds. You might have a lot of background programs running on your PC that may me taking processor power.

...this has happened to me on occasion. i use xp. i just think it's a glitch with youtube sometimes. for example, i logged on saturday and it would not even play clips; kept saying i did not have flash player installed (even though i did). next day, it was fine...

That's interesting. on net4nowt they are saying that youtube was a problem on Saturday. As for programes running in the background, this I don't know about. If you mean sites such as this where I don't log 0ff, then there are many, it just makes it easier to enter each time I visit. So what else would you mean if not this ?. Yes I'm on BB with TT (100.0 Mbps whatever that is.)

Well, I'd shut those windows for starters (if they're open) and see if it gets any better. I've had a look around and it may be that utube are suffering because of their success and are running out of bandwidth.
