    If getting a 2nd hand one, just beware that it may have been banned from live so get a guarantee that it has not.

    I would personally stay away from getting 2nd hand consoles unless its off people you know.

    Most of the time you can't tell if they've been refurbished or had RROD/YLOD before and if they have, you can bet that they will conk out again within a year.

    When it comes down to consoles - buy new, when its games - 2nd hand is good value.

    I wanted a couple for media centre extenders, I found cash generator was great for a few slims, prices very per store online and some accept offers to which always start low and work up until it gets accepted.

    I would only buy the slims these days.
