Buy Now Pay Later..!

I have a bad credit rating and wanted to buy some items through Studio but wanted to pay when I ordered.
I contacted Studio and was told that they are a credit based company so can only accept orders from people that have accounts, is this even allowed..?

We've lived through a very difficult time due to debt related issues, we're just about back on track now and have no desire to get into that situation again. I feel that I have been discriminated against because of my past, which would be fine if I'd asked for credit.

Can anyone give me some advice, please?

As long as they arent discriminating against you on an outlawed "ism" (eg race, disability, gender etc) then they are free to decide who they sell to and who they don't.

Any company that works on installments or BNPL and dont charge for these facilities do build the cost of credit into the price of the items themselves. Unless it is uniquely sold by them you are highly likely to find the same item cheaper elsewhere.

Back in my youth I worked for a mail order company (pre internet days) and all customers had to have an account with them too however if you failed their credit scoring you did then have the option of paying up front by card.

Chances are whatever you want will be cheaper elsewhere.

assuming you mean 24studio.co.uk, just had a very quick look on there and the prices are very inflated. Really not sure why you'd want to shop there at all

I had a offer code so the things I wanted would have been a lot cheaper than any where else :(

Another incorrect use of the word discrimination, wahey.

A company can sell to whoever they want. You could walk into Tesco and they could refuse to serve you just because they wanted to.

Are you having a laugh? No they can't! If they said "No, we're not serving you because you're black (or white, or Asian, or Australian, whatever)" that is totally illegal.

Unless you we're meaning something else?

They can. Where in law does it say that Tesco would be obliged to sell you a trolley of shopping?

They can refuse to serve you for whatever reason they choose. If it happens to be an "ism" then stuff gets serious.

If what you said was true, they wouldn't be able to refuse to serve rude customers.
