PPI after IVA completion?

Good question. My wife's in a similar situation, having completed her IVA back in May but hasn't received her certificate of completion yet.Bankrupt 28/07/08!0

I found this information from a well-respected Debt Management Specialist:
'If you have completed an IVA and have not been asked to make claims in the past, then yes you can claim for mis sold PPI.
It does not matter whether your IVA finished last month or a few years ago, your option to claim for PPI still exists. The key thing is that you MUST have received your IVA completion certificate from your IP. If you have not received this then your IVA is not formally over and any PPI compensation you receive in the meantime will still have to be paid into your IVA.'
Hope this helps.
Personally, when I receive my 'Completion' certificate (a few years off), then I take it as that: Completion. Any compo, windfalls etc. after that are then mine to keep - end of.0 -
Thanks for that wee nugget of info UpToMyNeckInIt, might just hold off on my big FP one and take my chances after the completion cert comes through. Still a long way off mind but something to look forward to.Roll on DFD, final payment 1st October 2017 :beer:0

Thanks for your help, will get on to it. My OH, just had a company do his and got £1700 and I have had a lot more things than he has. And with a wedding to pay for it will all help!0

Just be sure and do it yourself, no doubt the company your OH used creamed a fair amount off before returning £1700
nice payout though

They certainly did but we looked at it as money we didn't have in the first place so any was a bonus. Will have to look in to it on my next day off0

...a few words of caution attempting this if your IVA company was or has been taken over by Grant Thornton:
