Virgin Media problems

Hi, was wondering if someone could give a couple of ideas of what I can do about my current situation I find myself in.

Recently moved house and after having no problems with my previous two years of being a VM customer I have had nothing but problems.

My main problem at the moment is my Internet connection, that is sporadic at best. When we moved the engineer changed the super hub and I believe this new box is faulty. The wireless drops off even if in the same room.

I phoned the virgin helpline and have now spent nearly an hour on the phone restarting and changing settings with two different agents. I have asked for a new box and this has been refused. I asked to speak a manager this was refused, when asked why the agent said they can't do anything. I then stated I was paying for a service that wasn't being provided and the agent said they only guarantee the connection to the house not what happens after that. I asked for a copy of this guarantee/terms but was refused.

I don't know what to do next, I'm left paying for a service that I am not getting and Virgin don't want to know.

Can someone offer any advice?
Thanks

Unscrew the bottom of the box. Use a fine screwdriver to lever a component off the circuit board. Reassemble box. Phone Virgin to tell them the box is now completely dead.

    Don't do that:

  • I've sent a message on twitter, waiting for a reply.

I asked for a phone number or email address to complain to and was told they only accept complaints by post and they aim to reply within 90 days!

They are a pain, but when it is going it is a damn site better than anyone elses BB

Mine has a knack of going off when the wind is in a certain direction and it is raining. Had them out number of times, no fault found. Every now and again I have to reboot the modem (scientific atlantic one 10 years old) and reboot wireless router then ok for another 4-5 months.

Good luck with the service dept, I haven't spoke to a Native born British person yet. Billing dept answer very quick though

So what goes? The Internet connection (on a wired link) or on wifi? If the latter, neighbours using the same channels as you can swamp your coverage - and had nothing to d with VM.

Phone them again and ask to cancel all your services, they will be much more helpful.

Our wifi does the same - intermittantly cuts out and needs resetting to bring it back.

Gave up with VM customer services and just live with it cutting out for now!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

This will work, but isn't recommended of course :p they won't check to see if you've plucked anything off the circuit board.
