please can anybody help!

Hi not sure if this is in the right place but couldnt seem to find how to start a thread for the topic i want to discuss.

I am searching for help/advise,my mum took out a life insurance policy about 20 years ago with the liverpool vistoria, she has paid £25.00 per month on the promise of around £12000 on her death, however they keep writing to her saying that she needs to now pay double the monthly figure to even get £4000 on her death, can they do this? they have said if she leaves the policy now she will get £300!!! this just seems like a crime!.She has paid in much more than the £4000 she is promised on her death, she feels cheated and really upset as she brought three of us on her own and wanted to leave us a little each but now it will only just cover her funeral. She has been to citizens advice who said they can not help her with this matter.PLEASE HELP!

Check the terms of the agreement. Some policies can feature an increasing premium, so you need to check.

You really need too look at the policy documents to see what sort of policy it was and look at the T&C's in more detail.

Sounds to me like some sort of unit linked policy - as zx81 says check the policy document.

This also might be better moved to the insurance forum, rather than randomly being posted in credit cards - there are a number of brokers in there who will help.
