New Clause re Rentals

The managing agents of my flat are now saying that for insurance purposes they need to vet new tenancy agreements and that flats can only be let to families or professional couples. Given that flat is 3 bed 3 bath in private block owned by mostly absentee landlords I and others have previously let to professional sharers. Can they introduce this clause which will appear to affect the rentability of our flats and therefore potential income?

Can they insist on checking the leases - probably.
Can they impose condition on the type of tenant, almost certainly not.
Realistically, the MAs cannot purchase (for the benefit of leaseholders) an insurance policy that restricts the occupancy of a property (beyond that which is already restricted by the lease) because that would interfere with an OO's (i.e. the person whose interests they are supposedly representing) right to "enjoy" his property.0
