in Credit cards
Hi i was one of the unfortunate people that got into arrears on paying my minimum payment so thought talk to the credit company to see if I could sort something out I did and we agreed on a 3 month payment plan,
when I rang to make my first payment the lady insisted my amount was higher instead of the amount of the agreed amount I said I thought it was less but ended up paying I asked her again to recheck the system and she then said ah yes its on here but the payment has now gone thru - a week later I get a phone call to say as I had broken the agreement by overpaying It would affect my credit file and I needed to pay the full amount !!
to cut a long story short with the help of my family I ended up paying the total amount off and closed the account but this has affected my credit rating . surely I should not of been penalised for paying more off especially when I had asked the lady to check the system !!!!
